Ecology Coatings will be exhibiting at Labelexpo Americas in September 2012 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. The show runs from September 11 to 13 in Chicago. Launched in 1989, Labelexpo Americas is the largest event for the label, web printing, product decoration, converting and packaging industry in the Americas.

Sally Ramsey, Vice President, New Product Development, will present at the 2012 Food Packaging Technologies Summit on May 9, 2012, at the Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca, IL. A world class meeting and networking event now in its second year, the summit runs from May 7 to 9 and is focused solely on the connection between the food industry and packaging. A wide array of key issues, technologies and emerging market trends will be on the agenda for this year's event, detailing the major role that packaging is playing in the food industry and its continued relevance to discussions surrounding the single largest packaging segment.
Ms. Ramsey's presentation for the Emerging Technologies session is titled, "Creating UV Curable Coatings from Actual Food Materials."
Presentation Description: UV curable coatings and additives have been created from ordinary food stuffs that avoid the hazards associated with contact between food and current coatings and inks. Other implications of the technology include new food products and increased packaging sustainability by eliminating petroleum-derived polymers. Demonstrated applications include edible inks and coatings and barriers to grease and/or water. The technology also facilitates the use of odors and flavors as well as natural anti-microbial spices and herbs.

The event runs from April 30 to May 2, 2012, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. RadTech UV/EB 2012 is the world's largest UV and EB event and is a 3-day conference and exhibition dedicated to fostering educational, technical and scientific advancement in the manufacture and use of ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) curable products.
